Awake NY x Reebok släpps på fredag
Instapump Fury samt två färgställningar av modellen Workout Low
Tidigare avslöjades ett samarbete mellan streetwear-märket Awake NY och Reebok. Skorna släpps på fredag den här veckan. Awake NY är främst känt för sina kläder, nu går de för första gången ihop med Reebok för releasen av Instapump Fury samt två färgställningar av modellen Workout Low.
Instapump Fury kommer i en färgstark modell med svart mesh och gula detaljer. På hälen syns både Awake NY samt Reebok-branding. Dessutom inkluderar samarbetet två olika varianter av Workout Low, i färgerna svart och vit. Den vita varianten kommer med en gul sula som sträcker sig över tå- samt hälpartiet. Skorna pryds av texten ”Awake” längs sidorna samt co-branding på tungan och hälen. Angelo Baque, grundare av Awake NY berättar att skorna är inspirerade av 90-talet och artisten Raekwon.
”When I think of Reebok and of the Workout silhouette, I think of Raekwon. A lot of people don’t see that association, but I think of Raekwon, ’Glaciers of Ice.’ Editorials of certain Wu-Tang members wearing that shoe with military cargo pants tucked into their sock or a hockey jersey.”
”Angelo came up with the great idea of focusing on Japanese sneaker culture. The [Instapump] Fury is one of the most iconic sneakers in Japan. So, I think him adding that model to the storytelling is good offering for two different people, there’s a kid that wears only the Fury and that’s their aesthetic. But I also really identify with the Workout. So, we made the decision to offer both sides and both shoes are very strong in their own way.”
Awake NY x Reebok släpps 13 mars via awakenyclothing.com och Dover Street Market. En global release sker 20 mars. Workout Low släpps för $120 USD och Instapump Fury för $180 USD.
