Critics Choice Awards 2026 bjöd på en kväll där både väntade favoriter och nya utropstecken tog plats i rampljuset. Störst av alla blev One Battle After Another, som kammade hem priset för Best Picture och cementerade sin status som årets kanske tyngsta film. Som grädde på moset tog Paul Thomas Anderson hem regipriset och skrev ännu ett kapitel i sin redan ikoniska karriär.
Filmen var dock långt ifrån ensam om att dominera kvällen. Sinners blev en av galans stora snackisar med hela fyra vinster. Ryan Coogler prisades för bästa originalmanus, Ludwig Göransson tog hem bästa musik, Miles Caton utsågs till bästa unga skådespelare och Francine Maisler vann i den helt nya kategorin Best Casting and Ensemble. Ett tydligt kvitto på att filmen klickade på alla nivåer, från manus till kemi framför kameran.
På skådespelarsidan var det flera tunga namn som klev upp på scen. Timothée Chalamet fortsätter sitt segertåg och vann Best Actor för Marty Supreme, medan Jessie Buckley tog hem Best Actress för sin roll i Hamnet. I birollerna glänste Jacob Elordi i Frankenstein och Amy Madigan i Weapons.
Även tv-sidan fick ordentligt med kärlek. Netflix-serien Adolescence utsågs till bästa miniserie, samtidigt som skådespelare som Sarah Snook, Erin Doherty, Stephen Graham och Owen Cooper plockade individuella priser. Bland dramaserierna var The Pitt en tydlig vinnare, medan The Studio tog hem priset för bästa komediserie, med Seth Rogen och Ike Barinholtz bland kvällens vinnare.
Animationsfronten dominerades av KPop Demon Hunters, som både vann för bästa animerade film och bästa låt med ”Golden”. På musiksidan fortsatte Ludwig Göransson att visa varför han är en av branschens hetaste namn just nu.
Galans värd Chelsea Handler gjorde sin fjärde raka comeback som host, och årets upplaga markerade även starten för flera nya kategorier, bland annat stunt design, ljud och variety series, ett tydligt tecken på att Critics Choice Awards vill spegla hela bredden av dagens film- och tv-landskap.
