Carlyle Group säljer sin andel i Supreme till VF Corporation

Idag kom nyheten att investerarna Carlyle Group och Goode Partners säljer sin andel i Supreme till det Denver-baserade kläd- och skoföretaget VF Corporation. Avtalet är värt cirka 2.1 miljarder dollar. Värdet avslöjades först av Business of Fashion och bekräftades sedan i en presentation idag.

“The acquisition of the Supreme brand is further validation of our vision and strategy to further evolve our portfolio of brands to align with the total addressable market opportunities we see driving the apparel and footwear sector. The Supreme brand will further accelerate VF’s hyper-digital business model transformation and will be a meaningful driver of VF’s commitment to top quartile total shareholder return and long-term value creation.”  säger VF’s president och CEO Steve Rendle.

VF Corporation är även ägare av varumärken som Vans, Timberland och The North Face. Köpet innebär dock ingen förändring av Supreme’s ledning, som fortfarande består av grundaren James Jebbia och resterande grundteam. Dealen väntas gå i lås innan slutet av VF Corporations budgetår 2020.
