The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" slår världsrekord

The Weeknd’s singel ”Blinding Lights” från 2019 har precis slagit världsrekord då den är den låt som spenderat flest veckor på Billboard Hot 100 någonsin. Nu har den legat på topplistan i hela 88 veckor i rad, vilket slår det föregående rekordet på 87 veckor, vilket togs av Imagine Dragons ”Radioactive” 2012.

På sin Instagram skriver The Weeknd:

”Forever grateful to be able to experiment with sounds, try new things with my voice and create music with the people I truly love and respect. For the last decade every song has been a journey and to be able to continue this journey has been nothing short of a blessing. It’s the only gift I could ever ask for. I’ll be doing it for as long as I can breathe. I love my fans and wouldn’t be here without you. Big day for blinding lights. Multiple songs in the top 20. Thursday turns 10. Caesar turned 4 and the fucking dawn is coming. LET’S GO” 

”Blinding Lights” har även slagit rekord med Hot 100’s top five (43 veckor), top 10 (57 veckor), top 20 (79 veckor) och top 40 (84 veckor). Missa inte heller info om Abels kommande projekt The Dawn här.
